Thanks for responding Greeny.  Just so I know, are you in a position to know this with the same certainty your answer conveys?  Or is this how you believe it should be?

This is fact, I got it early :)

So this was confusing to me...but not no more.  This is what happens when you upgrade.
Sonar Platinum comes and you get an email with serial numbers,  Head to the XLN site and go to your account, input your new serial and then you get to pick 3/3/3....OK I got it!
 
So the guy who has everything should just hold on and as XLN creates new Kits etc...he'll be able to pick them up for nadda.  Just keep that Serial Number handy.  The serial number that is not a serial number, but a purchase number 'cause my AD2 already has a number.

Quick AD2 question.  I upgraded to X3P and got AD2 as part of the bundle.  I've now upgraded to Platinum (still waiting) which includes AD2.  Since I already have AD2 am I able to download a greater number of kits?  Or no?

Yes, you get to pick 3 more ADpaks, MIDIpaks, and kit pieces. It's a great value.

Very happy with my AD2 freebies! Great deal, but I don't blame anyone for asking...you never know.

That is correct.

I think the confusion stems from AD1 actually coming with three kits in the most basic version. For AD2, you can get a single kit with just the AD2 engine, nothing else.
You're not getting the update from AD1 that updates your basic three kits. You're not getting "AD2 + 3/3/3" because AD2 by itself is nothing, just an empty engine. You're getting 3/3/3 and if you didn't have the engine yet you'll need to install it.
