I just downloaded platinum and installed only the platinum base and craigs part. I cannot find any info on the forum on what to install and it is a big list.
I also own addictive drums 2. How to go about installing this as far as the ad packs etc go?
Is there documentation on how to go about this?

If you "install" Add2 via the Command Center it downloads information (doc file) on how to install Add2.

The installer is pretty intuitive.. If you keep your plugins in a specific spot, hit the gear on the Command Center page and change the paths to where you have them.
 
In regard to AD 2 This is still basically controlled by the XLN installer. You can simply grab the AD serial number go to you XLN installer page, put it in and the XLN installer with start the process of letting you chose and then install your Producer Pack.
 
I found that Where most of the other items were installed by earlier versions. So there was nothing to do there (Rapture, Dimension Pro, Nomad Factory. etc.  With that said if you want to control that it is possible to download to your download location in Command Center and run the installs individually. I saw a post that going into the store and selecting the specific product will download it and then it can be run to install "custom".  This probably did not cover everything so please feel free to ask specifics but for the most part is how it was for me. IHTH

When I am in CC and select platinum I get a whole list of different suite's that are connected to platinum. I also have Sonar x3 with all my plugins. All my plugins were found by platinum. Now I have a lot of red leds of things that were not installed. 
What do I need to install and what is not nessessary?

AD2 will allow you to pick 3 new ADpaks, MIDIpaks, and kit pieces. So even if you own it, you get three more. It's like a $180 value. 

I'm trying to generate download links from my account with no success. Maybe just too busy at Cakewalk?

Those are three that I've downloaded and installed as well, and the only ones I've seen mentioned in other threads.  I don't recall anyone (Bakers or otherwise) stating any need to install the other options if you already have X3 installed.   I do wonder if it's explicitly outlined anywhere...

Andrew everything I selected for AD2 shows up except the midi packs.  Any thoughts?

If you mean the midi packs don't show in the xln on-line installer, it's because they are already installed and just get changed from demo mode to installed mode. Open up AD2 and check the Beats Tab.
