What's the load time for a full mix recall?
Can I A/B a mix while the transport is playing?

The video demo shows being able to A B on the fly and the loads were just about instantaneous. I guess it will depend on your CPU and the size of the recalled mix. Go check out the videos of all the new features

If you're mixes just contain automation parameters and mix levels, it's pretty quick.

On the other hand, if you're changing plug-ins or synths between mixes, it takes a moment.

I wonder if hidden, background renders just to quickly A/B mixes would help? Do everything you are doing, plus create a mixdown in the background so that comparisons are seamless. Just a thought...

There is definitely a potential for additions and revisions down the road. MixRecall is a pretty big feature, and we've designed it in such a way where we can leverage it for other cool features in the future. There were also a ton of outstanding track, lane, and automation bugs that got squashed for it.

Yeah, mix recall served as a massive test matrix for all kinds of operations flipping in and deleting fx, envelopes etc.
Lots of old bugs with automation instrument tracks and take lanes etc got squashed as a result.

Regarding load time, its very fast if there are no fx being recalled as Seth mentioned. With fx its dependent on the fx itself. If you mix recall a sampler of course it will take some time to recall (yes mix recall also recalls synth settings for all referenced tracks)

Noel is the mix recall only per project file? Can you somehow call up a mix setting from another song almost like a track template pulled into a song or is that too outrageous to hope for?

Right now it's per-project, but that feature is not too outrageous to hope for. . . *cough*

Nope not too outrageous :)
today you can partially do that by dragging in a mix scene via the browser (undocumented). It won't work from a drastically different project however.

Yeah, if it worked for a similar project that would be huge. I understand a drastically different project wouldn't map.
