If you derived the new project from the old one (same track and bus ids) it will work.

That's gotta be a YMMV situation I would think. Take screensets, on all the demos they're instant but in my experience there's always a lag.

I thought "meh" about this feature even though it's obviously the biggest of the upcoming release, but I'm finishing up an album right now and have to create several variations of final mixes: vocal up, no vocal, vocal down, "Darker" (to prevent eq issues when converting to mp3 for example), etc. This is where I see this feature saving me a lot of time between opening and closing several versions of the same project file.

You can also export multiple mix scenes in one export operation.

ReallY?! Oh, man... that's slick. I've been considering producing multiple mixes for download options like a mix for headphone users, stereo systems, mono sources, etc. That would certainly save a LOT of screwing around.

Nope not too outrageous :)
today you can partially do that by dragging in a mix scene via the browser (undocumented). It won't work from a drastically different project however.

Well this is what I was hoping for all along, I miss using my 01v and it's ability to recall mixes that could be shared for an entire session. Some sessions with a regular band are pretty straight forward song to song. Once you've dialed in the drum mix it can be handy to use that for the whole album with just a few minor tweaks. Sonar will find a home in more working studios with features like this. Good on ya boy's..

Where do you drag it to? the mix recall section on the control bar?
