All my work is Mac based, and I had decided recently that I wouldn't upgrade to a new version of Sonar this year if one should be released.

Cakewalk's subscription plan is ideal for me.  It means I can hold back, get on with my work and observe Sonar's progress, and jump in when I'm unable to resist the temptation.  All at a reasonable monthly fee, and after twelve months I own it.  Simple.
Development of the Pro Channel (more modules please!) is what I'm hoping for, and the mix environment in general.  I like the improvements to the console so more of that please!

So regardless of all the lunatics I've been reading the rantings of around here today (I'm late to the party so it's taken quite some time) I think Sonar is in good hands, and I think it's clear that Cakewalk are moving with purpose once again.

Here's to the future of Sonar!

Agreed. I'm really scratching my head at some of the exchanges here.

It seems like the user base is really split in two camps:
A) Happy to pay up yearly or otherwise for the value they feel is inherent..

B) Users who wait late in product cycles, getting discounts on current and new versions

It looks that simple.
New System won't allow those "$79 For Last Years' Sonar Producer w/ free bump to new version in 1 month" deals.

That's cool, Danny.  It's working out for you.  I guess the lunatics believe that after investing months into a program only to find that bug fixes aren't coming in so decide to drop SONAR lose it and can't get their money back.  That is crazy.  Once SONAR becomes attainable for a limited time but then loses functionality after time paid for... yeah, that's not gonna happen.  Too bad for them, I guess.

Kind regards,

there are two camps:
1. intellegent, thoughful and real Sonar users and....

2. lazy, dumb, and/or non-using flamers

Nah, I think there's a third group too - those that simply don't want it to or believe it will work.   Eh, whatever.

So I guess it is socially acceptable to call people names on forums now? In this thread people are refered to as lunatics, lazy, and dumb. In any thread people with opposing viewpoints are called names. Is this just a reflection of our societal values? I have a word for it:unsavory.
