+1 .
To me , notation is definetely the sector in which Sonar needs more improvements, in terms of easy to use and flexibility. Please let us know if there are new things coming in that way

As I've said, I'd also like a better staff view.  But how much would be enough ?
It seems to me you either support notation or you don't.  I have trouble imagining a middle ground, especially one that wouldn't require a lot of work.  I wonder how many people at Cakewalk are familiar with the actual code.

I used to create partitions 'by hand' with a drawing package.  It was rather slow, but I could do everything, especially once I'd built up a library of core symbols.  Of course they were dead partitions...

This is probably the #1 reason why people switched to Cubase.   You also have to realize a DAW will not replace a notation program and it will not replace a DAW.

I would also benefit from improved notation because I use it in the classroom almost every day.
Unfortunately, in modern music creation, the prv is much more important.
Eventually, notation will get improved as they run out of other things to improve :)

People who've been using the first version of Sonar do not share that hope.

I don't expect anything but what we already have. Only the names are changed. It's the same service.

Notation, notation, notation again.  Let's just face it.  The Bakers just may ignore us and this continuing request as time after time.  After all, we are on the precipice of a new era for SONAR.  I would think that at this time we would finally see a "big" change.  And yet, after all this time, the Baker have not expressed any intention on developing notation further.

Kind regards,

If you have not already done so, go to this thread and vote (with the stars on the right) for the numerous suggestions for changes to Staff View.
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Features-Ideas-f76.aspx
Cakewalk has indicated that suggestions in the Sonar forum (here) are meaningless.
THey have provided the Features and Ideas thread for suggestions.
Only time will tell if this new forum is a viable channel to make our requests heard.

I'm totes agnostic on notation fixes. Before that I'd love to see the ability to rotate the PRV 90 degrees. I requested this once and got laughed at, and then Studio One came out with it.

Kite,
We just want the bugs fixed in SV so that is reasonably usable for light notation chores. No one expects music publisher quality.
Cubase 8 does look interesting especially with their level of hardware integration.
I like the VCA fader idea.
