i cant seem to get any ideas except on these forums i don't understand why I ONLY seem to be having this problem!

Can any of the forum hosts get me in contact with support?

It's new year's day. Support is closed for the holiday. Try again tomorrow but if all else fails, they'll be open Monday.

The reason only you are experiencing this problem is because it's unique to your system or installation. Trying to troubleshoot on a forum is really inefficient because of the lag between asking something, testing something, and reporting on the results. I'm sure you'll find the answer after you get through to support.

I am sorry to hear about your problems.

How have you tried to contact Cakewalk?  If you are in the U.S.A. then phone them.  I guess they may be closed over Christmas/New Year.

There must be something odd going on here, as I have never heard of this issue before.

I would agree that "i really don't understand how anyone can make music with it in this condition" if I had heard of anyone having these problems before.

I use Sonar all the time, as do many people on here.  If we all had this problem, then this forum would be full of complaints about it.

I hope you get this sorted - I know how frustrating it can be to pay for something that doesn't appear to work.  I can only reassure you that Sonar does work, and that support should be able to identify what is happening in your case.

Don't give up on X3 - it is a remarkable piece of software that makes earning my living much easier.

Here's a link to my youtube.i tried to demonstrate whats happening even if some of it doesn't look that bad to you keep in mind its an empty project no vsts no plugins no audio at all just open and adding prochannel modules,if i start adding any other plugins or midi or audio its gets worse and worse if i load enuf audio along 8 channels to make 100 bars and add one prochannel the entire program is unusable or simply freezes.

Ok... here I am back at my desk, and I find I can get the display for the Quad Curve EQ on a vocal to precede the singing by the exact amount of the PDC (or clicking the PDC button makes the singing and the Spectral Analysis in the EQ match up).

When I bypass the FX on the busses (by grouping all Pro Channel Power buttons and disabling them as a collection), I can also resolve the timing of the FFT display in the EQ and the audio I'm listening to.

@EchoJester, I noticed a couple of things watching your video...
1. You're using Studio not Producer. Most here use producer so that may be an important difference.
2. The playback skipping looks like what can happen if you click the Pause/Break Button. You can probably test this behavior by clicking the button yourself and the hit play in a project (one that you haven't tried to insert the PC Module into).

I'm sure I don't know why you are having the problems you are having, but I would definitely contact support if I were you. The latency on the Quad Curve EQ that I'm talking about is measured in milliseconds and really doesn't matter. What you are struggling with makes Sonar unusable and you need advice.

BTW, Are you using Asio? What's your interface? I had some troubs way back when with some PC Modules on an old laptop on which I used MME instead of ASIO.

BTW, I tested the pause/break button on the Softtube Saturation Nob effect and it does exactly what you demo'd in your video. So, that may be your graphical issue.

Again... re-launch and hit the Pause/Break button to see if it fixes your display skipping issues.

This is actually an old feature built-in for ppl who's graphical stuff couldn't hang with real time audio. It's a way of dramatically reducing the graphics load on the cpu.

i did mention im using studio,id like to upgrade but if this is what i would have to deal with then im not going to.im aware of the pause/break button that was one of the first things i found out and tried,it only makes matters worse,i mentioned my interface aswell focusrite scarlett 8i6 with latest drivers, its not only a skipping issue all controls and menus within sonar skip and lag along as you try to adjust anything, and the more you add be it audio, midi or vst it progressivly gets worse.my video is an example of best case senario within a new project with nothing at all loaded and as you can see from the video sonar goes back to normal behavior asoon as the prochannel module is removed..i recently re installed pc4k s-type compressor PC module  i can nolonger get it to load, asoon as i select it to add it it immediatly freezes sonar, even in an empty project also as you can see from my video.

i also don't seem to understand why my graphic card would be such an issue,FL studio is just a deeply windows integrated as sonar and after years of new updates and beta testing i've never experienced this the current FL 12 beta is mostly broken full of bugs and graphical nightmares but i can still work around and complete a track with it,and other then a more advanced version of prochannel features how is X3 producer any different from studio?according to the version comparison its feature differences not coding a difference, studio should be equally as stable as producer.if not that would make it coded differently on purpose to force people to buy producer in which case id be glad to get my lawyer involved and put an end to that.but i don't believe that to be the case.something's just not playing nicely with sonar and i would really like to know what so i can finish my track with my prochannel modules, one day purchase producer edition and live happily ever after.
I may talk like a fool at times but ive been using DAW's for nearly 10 years now,i understand things like PDC,Graphic acceleration, latency,Sample rate and buffers if it was merely one of those i would have solved this problem months ago,but here i am

Since no one else is having this kind of problem, the problem has to lie in your particular system.  Either you have a computer/hardware problem, or you have a problem with your particular copy of X3 Studio.  You mentioned re-installing X3e, but have you tried re-downloading it ?  Maybe the copy you have is corrupted in which case re-installing won't fix anything.

Are your hard drives full ?  Have you experienced anything remotely similar in other programs ?  Have you run disk and memory checks ?  Have you looked at windows log files for errors ?
