I find it very useful also for auditioning or creating midi sequences. I then use VST's if all is well with TTS-1.
I remember the stand alone,Roland Hypercanvas, which seems to be where TTS-1 came from originally.

Very useful for me.............

Thank you all for your insightful input. I'm having trouble jogging my memory as to why I placed a TTS-1 Output track into my template, but I think it has something to do with the instructions I read regarding the design of the synths. For example, I read that every Sound Center synth track must have its own instance, but 16 TTS-1 tracks can go to one Output...or something of that nature.

Although your comments are helpful and fairly understood, would you mind dumbing it down a bit for me? I just need to know -- at face value, for a newbie, so to speak -- is it necessary to have an Output track to represent my TTS-1 tracks, or is it okay for them to all stand alone? What are the benefits and do I need it?

Thanks again! :)

Open a new empty project and insert TTS-1.  Select options 'MIDI Source' and 'All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo".

This will insert 4 stereo audio tracks and one MIDI track, along with the TTS-1 synth.

If you click on the TTS-1 button 'System', then 'Options', you will see that you can route any of the 16 instrument slots in TTS-1 to any one of the four audio outputs.

Up to you.  Have a look around...
