I can't find the "My Account" link....I come to the main forum page and it's not there anywhere. Where can I find this elusive creature....

The link isn't on the forum yet - see Ryan's post #74.

Also post #1 ;)

OK, I lied (unintentioanlly). I had not cleared cookies.

Thanks Bapu. Interesting that this was a requirement for you. I'll see if I can reproduce and investigate.

In case anyone else is having difficulties getting an error message when you try to activate - cut and paste the link into your browser instead of just clicking on the link in the email.

Sorry if this is obvious and/or posted above, but I did not see it on first pass and it took me a few minutes to figure it out.

Whoa it works! I've been locked out for some time. Very confusing so far. Followed the steps and followed the activate link and that was rejected. I've been in limbo, confused as to what password would work. None did. Just now my original password before all this started let me in.

Very confusing.

Don't know if it's just me or not, but when accessing via Safari on the iPad, I can log in but as soon as I go to another page I'm logged out.

Craig, I had that experience as well.

^THIS^  is what FINALLY worked for me.

I started out trying to log in as normal to the forum - no luck.  I then tried the "Lost Password" button, entered my user name and it came back with "user does not exist" (which naturally was a surprise, I'd always kind of assumed I existed though it does explain some of the people I meet).  At this time I realized that we HAD to migrate so I selected the migrate button, filled everything out and, eventually, got it to send me the authentication email.

I clicked on the migrate authentication link from Outlook and it didn't work.  Then I tried right-clicking, selecting "Copy Hyperlink" then pasting into the address bar of Chrome and that did NOT work (it kept saying I had broken the internet).  I then tried the "Lost Password" button which worked this time and sent me a new password.  I attempted to log in using that but it kept saying invalid combination of user name and password.

FINALLY I saw the comment above and gave it a try carefully scraping the whole link, hitting Ctrl-C, then pasting it into Chrome's address bar and... it finally validated me.

I just hope that the less-tech savvy members find this thread and figure things out!

Same here. Selecting 'Copy Hyperlink' did not work. Manually selecting the link in the email and then pasting to the address bar in Internet Explorer finally did the trick for the confirmation/activation email.

Ditto.   What I found in the end was that there were to equal signs at the end of the URL (==)that weren't being included.   After copy and pasting the link and then adding the ==, that finally worked for me.
