After migrating:

I can authenticate via verification link that was sent to me.
However I can't log in with old password.
I cant change password whilst logged in.
If I click "Lost password" and enter username I get "The internet is broken".

Help I need a password :).
Thanks!

Also please see update #32. Perplexing..

And to be clear... while logged into the forum and I click through to the store I get asked to sign into the store as always. If that is where this "My Account" page still lives and I am unable to access it by using my forum credentials (which are now completely different than my store credentials) then we have indeed achieved the separation I needed.

If I am mistaken please correct me.

Cheers.

One other thing that was a little confusing when I created my new account. Entering my email in the first prompt, it threw a message about not be able to verify the email (sorry I did not capture the exact wording). I ignored the message and continued to the re-enter email and finished the form.

It looks like you do not own any Cakewalk products yet. Consider checking out some of our free 30 day trials!

Excellent. Still not sure where that link is on the forum page but whatever. Cheers.

Confirmed. I can't get in at all through this method with whatever password I have either but I can get my product keys etc via the new facility.. I'm assuming the old "My Account" link should not be there.

Yup. Same thing happened here but what it was referring to was the email you punched in not matching the Re-Confirm E-Mail box. This is pretty common (as I'm sure you know) however unlike other sites that use this procedure the message did not go away once the email was confirmed in the appropriate box.

But yeah... just type in the right email in both boxes and it will work.

I agree that the instruction are not as clear as they could be. although I obviously figured it out. I think it would help to spell out the instruction in detail, i.e, "If you have a previous forum account, follow these steps". I know it probably looks pretty clear to you CW guys but you've been working with this all along to get it going - it's new to the rest of us.

Also, I ran into a log in issue that I was able to resolve. When I followed the activation email link, I saw that I was logged in, so I browsed to the forum. Then I looked at latest posts and clicked on a thread. But I then noticed that I was signed out (?). So I clicked the log in link and logged in again. This time I tried to access my User Account, but the link took me back to the log in page, and after I logged in I got a Page Not Found error. This happened every time after I logged in, no matter what I tired to do (post a reply, look at my user account stats, etc.). So I closed all Cakewalk windows, opened my browser (Chromium) settings and deleted all Cakewalk cookies. After that, I was able to access and view the forum normally.

CW, perhaps you should also include this in your instructions (or maybe it's there and I missed it). Since the forum is view-able without logging in, hopefully this will help others resolve log in issues.

Yup. I did that and it confirmed I was logged in but was telling me I do not own any cake products so I'm assuming that I have successfully separated the accounts. They may have been severed anyway but I did a bunch of changing of emails and whatnot. Hopefully it stays this way when they do the final push and update the store.

However I am still uncertain how you accessed that page via the forum. Even when I navigate to the store it asks for me to login. When I clicked your link it recognized the Beepster handle. Weird.

For now all seems to be well.
