Is there a place for a product key or activation? It does not ask anything.

If you installed using the Command Centre and you remained online it already has registered and activated your product. No action required on your part.

If you want to do an off line installation without the Command Centre you use your Serial number and get back an activation file all of which you can save so that in future you can do another offline installation on the same computer.

The only caveat is that if doing off line installations without the Command Centre, then you must do this for every computer on which you install Sonar.

Not weird. It's mentioned in the installation information as one of the features of the Cakewalk Command Centre to help streamline the installation process.

I'm Liking this feature kind of a pain the old way and you can download all files at once from the command center before you had to use firefox or something similar to download multiple files

Don't ask. Don't tell?

This sounds good as long as it doesn't need to verify activation every so often shutting Sonar down until you access the web, like Guitar Rig seems to be doing.
