Hello again.
 Thought it does seem so, can someone confirm that Command Center downloads have a 'smart' restart if the in progress download is for some reason terminated ? I decided to perform a Install All and the process died - (thank you Century Link!:)).  A restart after a 2nd Install All re-initialized, checked and began again at 51.5% , so Command Center does appear 'smart'.
 
Are there checksums available that I can compare to the downloadable installables to check for corrupted downloads ?

I don't think so. For Platinum, checksums would be listed in http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/By-Product/SONAR%20Platinum. I believe one of the staff mentioned C3 performs file validation.

I read there's some smart tech in the C3 that does the checksum after download before installing anything.

It does validate the file however my experience is that if the connection drops it will delete the temp file of the download it was working on and start that file over. Any files that have completed will be ok though.
 
Not recovering from a lost connection is my feature request since I am using a metered internet connection.
 
Also I have asked that they add an option to download only in C3. If both of these are done then it will function like a good download manager should.

Or at least, I had a botched download and when I restarted it, it picked up at 54%. It would be cool if there was a Pause feature, so I could run it in the background whilst doing other stuff, but this is good enough for now. 
 
Besides, I would guess future updates will be smaller so the download times should improve.

@Wicked I'm glad it worked out for you. In my case I was only download the help and tutorials file and it got about 60% when my connection dropped and the temp file it was downloading disappeared.
 
Restarting the download started at 0%. I submitted this and Cake said they would look into it. Not sure what that means. Time will tell.
