Hey folks. Just installed Sonar Platinum (upgraded from X3e). Only the program itself, none of the included packs (FX, AD2, or any of that). Wanted to give it a try right away so I opened a current project of mine. Sonar opened smoothly, did a VST scan, project opened fine.

When I began playback, my midi drum track (using Addictive Drums 1) was out of sync with everything else. I stopped playback, started again, same thing. Moved the now time around a bit, corrected.

I noticed that this is only happening when one track is solo'ed (using dim solo function so that I can hear the other tracks as well). Standard non-solo playback is fine.....so far.

Is this new? Or has someone had this problem before and I just missed it on the forums?

I hate to complain. I love Sonar. It's to be expected that a few glitches will exist right out of the gate. Kinda got lucky finding this one within the first 30 seconds of use. LOL.

Another thing I just noticed. The drum pane reverts back to a small size area at the top of the piano roll whenever a different track is selected in the track view. This happens whether the piano roll window is floating or docked, visible or not.

Maybe these 2 things are related somehow? With drum midi being the common thread?

Need someone who is smarter than me to help (this means you).

You might have to wait till more with a prerelease version can help troubleshoot. As it is now I'd say that 99.999% of users are still on X3e or newer.

I think that's been happening for as long as there has been a drum map name option in the PRV. It used to get on my nerves so I went back to using a drum kit and microphones.

Yeah, no show stoppers here. Just doing my due diligence and reporting stuff that's all. Was hoping to get the attention of the bakers more than anyone. It's all good. Liking the Command Center as well, download and install was effortless. Maybe because I lucked out with the early download and lower traffic, the download was super fast!

I have seen references to this recently, and going back quite some time. I'm wondering if it might be related to the MIDI looping sync issue that was determined to be caused by having a non-zero gain value on a track (fixed in an X3 patch IIRC). If Dim Solo uses the same gain/attenuation functionality, there might be a connection. There have also been references to this involving muting/unmuting MIDI tracks. In any case, I don't think it's Platinum-specific. It's rare enough that it seems it's either platform-specific or involves some other project/system configuration setting that not everyone uses.

If you can consistently reproduce it, you should submit a Problem Report with demo project to the Bakers.

Flerb- are you using touch at all?

No touch, just the old-fashioned mouse. I do use a Frontier Tranzport controller though.

Interesting. I can't make the same happen here, at least not with the info provided. I'm curious if it relates to Plugin Delay Compensation somehow. Can you still reproduce the problem after overriding PDC? It's in the mix module in the Control Bar. Click the button labeled "PDC" so that it's lit, then try to make it happen again. Please report back - that would be a very useful lead. Thanks.
