No touch, just the old-fashioned mouse. I do use a Frontier Tranzport controller though.

Thanks Flerb

Maybe start posting issues with new Sonar in the Problem Reports-forum as well, just to make it easier for Cake to find them quickly? :)

OK, so I finally got some more time to analyze this problem.

My project is saved with SOLO and DIM buttons on. Everytime I open the project, the drums are out of sync. Not only out of sync, but playing at a slower tempo than the rest of the project, by about 20 bpm. Turning SOLO or DIM on and off while project is playing does not correct it. Sometimes, but not always, stopping playback and starting again corrects it. Turning PDC on or off during playback corrects it everytime, but it doesn't seem to matter if PDC remains on or off, drums still in sync.

After correcting it, I can make it happen again by stopping playback, turning DIM on, then SOLO. This sequence makes the problem return everytime.

Trying to follow the notes displayed in drum pane as the song is playing with the problem active, it seems that AD is playing midi notes that aren't there at all, and only playing some notes that are there.

A weird problem, but not too bad, I can still work around it.

Bump.

For Bill Jackson, as he had requested a response.

I believe this is just another manifestation of SONAR's long standing flaky MIDI implementation. See this for an easy way to repro similar issues (also involves Dim Solo, so I suspect it might be related):

This has been going on for many years. Things get especially bad when you rely on MIDI data sent out from some plugins into another track. Sometimes the data sent out from those plugins would be out of sync too (like from a different measure altogether), or would momentarily bleed into the wrong tracks as you simply select between tracks.

It sounds like a drum map might suffer from some of these same issues. I don't use drum maps but maybe I should see if I can repro some issues and then log problem reports for it. Please log problem reports for anything you run into, when possible.

I am really excited about all the new changes in SONAR, and this release seems to be good compared to say the X1 release. However it boggles my mind that CW can't implement a solid MIDI foundation. No modern DAW should have basic issues like that shown in the video, yet here we are dragging those issues from release to release. Why is it so hard to get the basics right?
