Everything installed real smooth, except that I got the wrong version of SONAR.
I want the 32-bit, not the 64-bit, and yes, I run it on Windows 7 64.

There doesn't seem to be an option in the command center to tell it which version I want. Help?

[Update: I see that this question is actually answered in the READ ME.rtf. I should have read this before complaining here and uninstalling...]

And on that subject... there doesn't seem to be any option in Command Center to uninstall a product.  OK I found it. Right click the product name.

Glad you found it... but.... just curious, why aren't you running x64 version on SONAR?  It does load and run 32 bit plugins?

Go to your downloads folder (can be found in Command Center settings page) and run the SONAR install exe directly.

jkleban, I've never needed 64-bit power and all my third party plugs are 32-bit... I like the way I have my current system organized. I like running the 32-bit SONAR in my Win 64 environment.

For what it's worth, SONAR-Plat 64 couldn't find my Dimension Pro from previous installs - I'm assuming because it wasn't 64-bit? That's not important right now.

I hope my choice of un-installing the SONAR-Plat 64 didn't upset my existing installs.. it did seem to remove some Shared Plugin DXis.... I'm a bit concerned about that.

Wow, thanks for the quick response Bill. I'll give that a try.

I'll need to re-download (why is not important right now)
There doesn't seem to be an option to download, but not install, just Install. I'll see how I go...
OK, I can click on the close box of the progress bar once the file is validated, and i get the option to stop the install. Cool. It's installing the 32-bit version now.

Manually installed: Success
It found all my plug-ins.
Downsides:
The About Sonar window doesn't know if it is 32 or 64 bit, and also doesn't appear to know my Account Name.
For some reason it forgot about my MIDI ports; I had to re-select them.
It also didn't remember my color presets from X3.
Finally, the only command I really wanted on the custom button panel, "Undo Last View Change", doesn't appear to be available - at least, I haven't found it yet. On the other hand, "Show Control Bar" is available. Which if you think about it, doesn't make a lot of sense.
That Custom Module needs some refinement, actually, but I'll save any criticism for after I've spent some time with this puppy.

THANKS CAKEWALK! Happy user, here.

Also from the READ_ME.rtf: "32-bit DirectX plug-ins are not supported in SONAR x64 at this time".

Go to your downloads folder (can be found in Command Center settings page) and run the SONAR install exe directly.

Gee, does that mean that 32-bit SONAR users won't be able to take advantage of the many, nice features of the Command Center, like:

- Tells you when an update is available
- Can download any necessary files for you
- Will validate that the file is not corrupted (it does an MD5 check)
- Install the product for you
- Allow you to decide which components to install
- If the product requires a serial number, C3 will take care of that for you
- End Result: you can go from purchase to running SONAR in under 3 minutes
without ever having to type a serial number.

Hopefully, the streamlined updates still work. I guess I'll find out.
I'm not sure that my install has been registered correctly - the About box doesn't seem to know about my "Account Name".
