Yes, that's two more reasons why Sonar and Pro Tools are perceived differently: product price and prominence at educational institutions.  Sonar is more affordable but -- I'm guessing -- less prominent in course curricula.

Pro Tools only has 2 advantages over Sonar:

  1. They were first in the market hence their adoption by major studios & institutions
  2. They had the name "Pro" in the title
That's about it. As a PRODUCT, Sonar is leaps & bounds ahead and is in many ways, far more "Pro" than PT will ever be, especially given the current market state of Avid

Well, there's nothing that Cakewalk can do about being first, but perhaps their next generation product line should include "PRO" in the name: PRODAW, PROduce, PROpel, PROject, PROnar, or just plain PRO.

Great!

Thanks all for your reply! Very Feel Welcome! And as of what i hear is one of the basics to stick with it.

when I thought about  the phrase "Can We Go Pro on the Cakewalk" It was a catch-up phrase to think about it. And sure it can Publish it. (The Cakewalk)

I think I made the right choice since I guess all the Upgrades are almost worth the price. But Now? I am short of money, to many Family, to many Fatherhood.

I have not been here in the Forum since everything was working great with Sonar. Now with this new business model I was looking at all the reply of my post and Wow there were so many.
