What happens if I buy a pre order now and find out that I'll be happier if I wait to install until the first patch comes out?

When does the 12 months start? When I pay? When I activate?

Hows that work?

Thanks.

The day you purchase.

So if we purchase today, but you don't supply for a week, it starts a week after that?

Also If I purchase from a third party, does it go on that date, or the date I then register with cakewalk?

If I were to make a bet, the clock starts on third party purchases with the redemption date at this site https://www.cakewalk.com/Redeem

Ah, so I purchase from them, they redeem, clock starts, and they supply to me.

Or worse case scenario, they have pre-redeemed a stack and the clock has started.

In the past, the third party vendor supplied the purchaser the redemption code. It was up to the purchaser to redeem the product. I don't think this has changed. This makes gifting easy. I doubt the worst case scenario is likely.

Naa.. The clock probably starts when you do the purchase. You then need to pay for one year from this date to be able to keep it (if you choose to stop paying). If the clock would wait for an update to come before starting this would only mean you'd have to pay for a longer time before the keep-what-you've-got-date.

Ah.. That's a good question.. I would guess it's from the date they take your money though. Would be nice to know for sure however.

For everyone unhappy or uncertain, just wait a few months... clock will start then, and you'll have a couple more months in the subscription...the way I understand it, ya get 12 months from purchase point...

Or go the monthly plan for a month and convert to full pay after the month if you like the changes... you'll most likely loose the month paid but still get the discount and clock will start over (at least that's what I gleen from elsewhere.  Seems totally reasonable...
