So if we purchase today, but you don't supply for a week, it starts a week after that?

Naa.. The clock probably starts when you do the purchase.  i

Just re-read what I typed and  e had typed the opposite of what I meant

The day you purchase.

Thank you for the information.

Are you explaining that if I buy a preorder from one of your partner vendors today, my 12 months starts today? Even though I can't even download it until the predicted Jan 21 release?

What if the release is as smooth as the X1 release, which killed some peoples' (folks like me with ASIO hardware) computers (People had to use disc image restores or reinstall Windows to get the computers to work again), or X3 which seemed to require a quickly released hot patch before it was useful? Are you explaining that he clock is still ticking away while we wait?

It seems like starting the clock the day chosen to first activate would be a more valuable policy to an end user.

I intend to pay for 12 months up front... I was thinking I'd purchase today... but it seems like I may only get 11 months use out of my 12 month subscription.

That's a good question - especially if you buy from a 3rd part like Sweetwater to get the boxed version.

I've always gone thru CW download - so they of course know the instant you buy.  Will you enter your purchase date if you buy 3rd party or what?

Seems like it should be first activation - just mechanics wise - to really know when the clock starts.

Is 12 months starts when you pay not when you activate the final answer?

A preorder is not a purchase.  At least not the ones I've gone through.

Has anyone actually been charged for their preorder ?

I'm sure one from JRRShop would be.

If you buy through a third party, we don't start the 12 month period until you redeem at www.cakewalk.com/redeem

That action is what generates serial numbers, downloads, puts things in your account in command center and starts the clock.

If you buy through our store, the moment a transaction is approved and paid for it hits that same delivery system and starts the 12 months.

Ahh cool, so we do the redeeming, not the third party?

yes, just like with X3 if it was purchased from a retailer.
