Oh it has gotten bad in these forums in the past, and many times I was guilty. Sometimes it gets frustrating if someone doesn't see your pov, even though you feel you are right. The ones that drive me nuts usually is if someone blows off your issue because the thing that isn't working for you just isn't important to them.
These days, I think of it in terms of... How will I feel about my posts a year from now? Will I be embarrassed? Or, will I feel embarrassed if I show my posts to friends/family? If the answer is yes, then stop and re-word it until you feel it passes the test.
Another way is to just stick with what you believe to be the technical facts. Write it as if you are writing a technical manual, stating facts and describing steps etc., so that it isn't directed at a specific person. This will leave emotion out of the discussion when things get hot.
