Wow.  I can see some things remain consistent on these forums :)

1)  As to the remark about my "newness" to the forum.  I've have subscribed to these forums and participated for many years, with my Cakewalk experience beginning with Pro 3.01 for windows back in 94.  Your newbie jab was sadly misplaced.

2)  In regards to upgrade pricing, it has been the case for years...that upgrading from Producer typically dipped from $ 59-$79 after a year of release.  Not debatable.  My purchase history shows it.

3)  In reference to my Logic remark and the subsequent reply... "Good luck, you'll be back"....  I've used Logic for years, it's a breeze.  I happen to enjoy and employ both platforms.  Like many I don't "put all of my eggs in one basket".

4)  My post, which has been echoed by others, was simply stating disappointment that Sonar doesn't seem to support "legacy" users, when they create the "latest and greatest", it's shoved at you in an "all or nothing" fashion.

5)  Thanks to Mike V. for the useful and cordial response.

Sincerely, I'm not a troll.

You are correct, Mike V did give you a useful and cordial response. Two things that have not shown up in your posts yet. And yet, several people have tried to help you. You are correct again. "Some things do remain consistent on these forums".

The best laid plans of mice and men! One basic, rule change will happen. Sorry you got caught and unable to pick up Sonar X3 at a very reduced price but there was never a guarantee CW would continue the same practice as they have in the past.

In this I think you are just unlucky.

It must have been the mention of Mac.
Sorry to disturb the delicate dynamic of the forum. Apologies to all for the intrusion.

No doubt you can find some vendor attempting to unload copies of X3.

No, it wasn't Mac. It was and is your tone. No one cares what computer you use. As a builder myself how can I or anyone give two hoots  about what you like to use.

Your post is a diatribe about not having the foresight to buy X3 at its lowest price. You place the blame on CW when it is your fault.

Correction.  Perceived tone.
I made a simple statement that forsaking all previous incarnations of a version of software, and bum-rushing the latest flavor exclusively sucks, and it does.  Why not make other options available to long time users ?

No tone, no diatribe, no blame.  An opinion.
Sorry.

Once again, apologies.

My memory is that CW has changed how they offer their products often. There has never been any real guarantee through the years of keeping the same model of discounts from one year to the next.

For the vast majority that do not update at the last minute they will not see any real difference.
