hello, I have been trying to record multi tracks one at a time.
I setup a basic drum beat. sessiondrummer2 clip then bounced to audio. then removed all midi and sessiondrummer2
recorded guitar with that track and then a vocal track.. all was great no issues.
Now when I try to add to that, I get like a glitch, (hiccup?) and the new track has a bad note out of time.
or the timing will speed up or slow down just for a second or two.
seems like I cant record over 2 or 3 tracks without problems.
same problem in 16 or 24 bit mode.
 
any ideas? 
I'm using Win 8.1 64 bit, X3pro in 32 bit, i3 with 4 gigs.

Hi,
I have buffers set to 500 record and playback now but trying to get this fixed I ended up that high Driver set is full up to 16 and all the way set to fast.

Not a clock setting, more likely the buffer settings in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings Mixing Lantency section. I don't believe this setting is set to 500, maybe you are using MME or WDM driver mode in Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording and the slider in the Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings Mixing Lantency section is set all the way to fast. If this is the case, it may be necessary to move the slider to the right. If the slider is grayed out, you are probably running in ASIO mode and will need to increase the number of buffers in the software supplied by Lexicon. Just a guess because you did not answer:

There's your problem. I don't remember how good the drivers are for the Alpha but MME is generally the poorest performing driver mode. Move the buffer size slider to the right and see if it helps. You might also investigate if WDM or ASIO mode work with the interface.

ASIO, same as MME issues, WDM/Ks audio drop out within 20 seconds, Wasapi (what ever that is) Audio Dropout crackle - hiss .
 
So maybe I should look at drivers still? I will hard out to Lexicon.

In addition to the different driver modes, you will need to make buffer adjustments in the Mixing Latency section or the client software supplied by Lexicon (in the case of ASIO). Running at the smallest buffer settings may be too much for your set up. There also may be driver updates from Lexicon. I have no first hand experience with the interface.

Well the last thing I had not tried was to lower the buffer.. I set it to 8 and still could hear the issue but not as bad. I dropped it to 2 and slid the sider all the way to safe... as soon as I hit record I could tell that was the issues! I recorded the tract 3 times with no issues!
 
I had the buffer set up in the first place because of midi keys to soft synth delays... just need to remember that I need to set it as needed.
