Define content updates please.
I don't mind paying a yearly tribute to Cakewalk, I've been doing it for at least a decade now. I'm completely ready to get the next version of Sonar (especially for things like mix recall), but I keep hearing the term 'Content Updates' used as an incentive to accept the new membership model. In my mind, content updates are things like sample libraries, patch banks, project templates, and midi loops.
There are entire cottage industries built around project templates for many of the other DAWs (Ableton comes to mind) and I'm not aware of any 'EDM producer' who doesn't have a copy of VEC4. Is this the sort of thing Cakewalk has in mind for content updates?
If so, cool. If not, what?

Have you seen this page?

https://www.cakewalk.com/...ts/SONAR/Up-Next#start

Yes, those are new features. In fact, they look like good features. I like them, but they're not content.
However... Drum replacement seems a bit questionable. If Cakewalk can do a better job than Steven Slate, go for it.

In my mind, content is any aspect of a package, including features. I think that's the purpose of the 'Just Added' and 'Up Next for Members' pages. You purchase or get a subscription, to be a member and the latter page tells you of content they are working on, and will be receiving as part of your membership.

Dude, it's all good but content is pretty well defined. Personally, I don't care, I really like the new features and I'm going to buy the 'membership' regardless. It's the tool I use and have invested my musical career in, I'm not going to switch to Cubase next week no matter how many times I've threatened to. With most of the content end of Sonar remaining static for almost half a decade, I'm just curious as to what the updates are going to be.

I'm saying I believe with the way they are presenting the release with those 2 pages, that content includes the features. It makes sense to me that this is content. They have written they they would be working on releasing the developments as they are ready, instead of in an annual release as before. Again indicating that this developments, be they plug ins or features are content.

The new content since the last release includes
New! VocalSync in Plat only
New! Pattern Tool
New! FX Racks
New! Expanable Sends
New! Control Bar Enhancements
New! Mix Recall
New! Audio Snap Enhancements
FX Stacking
Expandable Sends
PRV Enhancements
MIDI Enhancements
Direct Stream Digital
Recycle/Pin Plugin Windows
Command Center
VST Enhancements

I'm not really excited about any of it, but in becoming a 'member' I then get the same volume of development, then I'd be happy.

I'd rather plug in and stuff be outside purchases personally, and the content to be more functionality, be it enhancements or new features.

My apologies. It looks like I'm having an issue with cognitive dissonance. Sorry!

You missed AD2 plus 3 ADpaks, 3 Midi paks, 3 kit pieces. That alone is worth more than 149.
And don't forget the Rematrix solo convolution reverb.

Good answer, thanks!
The question that remains is, what's next (content wise)?
New IR's for Rematrix? New multi-samples for DimPro? New patches for Z3TA+? New one shots from LoopMasters?
