I have an hour and a half to make a music CD with nine songs, but my mixes are in mp3 format?  Can it be done in Sonar X3?
The window in X3 doesn't seam to allow me to select anything but .wav
TIA

Most (not all) CD players these days will play mp3 files, so this is the quickest method. Depending on Windows version, you can do this right inside Windows Explorer.

For Wav files, Cakewalk's "Audio CD Burner" needs CD format wav files (44.1KHz/16 bit), which would require the mp3s to be converted. They can be imported into a new project and then exported from SONAR using 44.1/16 prior to using the "Audio CD Burner" tool.

There are also utility programs which will batch convert files, but I do not know of any good freebies to recommend offhand. I use Adobe Audition for this (not free).

Edit: In Win7, I just checked this in Windows Explorer... I put in a blank CD, dragged 3 mp3 files to it and burned it with default settings and it automatically created cda files on the burn, which will do what you need the fastest.

For pulling cda files from a disk, I use a program called "FairStars CD Ripper." You cannot pull them with Windows Explorer alone.

SONAR will also import from CD.

For mp3 files to remain mp3 files, it would have to be a data cd, not an audio cd.
My brother's car will play mp3's on a data cd so as an experiment, we tried putting the whole Styx and Beatles catalog on a dvd. He drove from NC to Florida without hearing the same song twice or hearing all the songs...

Great info.  Thanks guys.  I ended up by making a music CD using the 'windows media player' burner with the mp3s.
Played back without any problems on the one CD player i needed to play it on.
