pinguinotuerto, no problems on my end.

Craig, thanks for the info. Will look into the RME USB 3 interface and the AES convention you mentioned.

pinguinotuerto, . That RME is out of my price range, though. Will wait to see what the vendors at AES has to offer. Not in that big of a hurry. Nice thread about the interfaces. Have looked into all the cards mentioned. Gives me something to think about.

If can resolve my issue with my UX8, I'm keeping it (I love it-- it has the same AD converters (Cirrus Logic CS4272) as the APOGEE Ensemble (CS4272), Focusrite Saffire Pro (CS4272) and Liquid Saffire 56 (CS4272) ), but I'm getting discouraged. The Roland one seems very nice, and so does the motu. I'm concerned about windows 7 drivers with motu.

Did you ever read the Gear slutz bench test thread I posted? You'll see the Roland's are also low performers in RTL like the Scarletts. They talk about cheating on reported latency by using a hidden buffer. Weather this all matters in the end I'm not sure but I learned a lot reading that thread. And I didn't buy any of the interfaces listed either, but at least I know the limitations of what I have now.

I did!!!!!!!!!!! And thank you, I marked your post as helpful. I saw that about the Roland, but several users here seem to be having success with it. Benchmarks can be helpful, but real world performance is another issue. My Line 6 UX8 would probably do poorly on those tests, yet I, and other people I know use it to trigger vsts like AD2 with V-Drums without any noticeable latency whatsoever-- and that's the most important thing to me, not what it scored on on some benchmark tests. The info was interesting, but I'm not going to decide what to buy based solely on that. Plus there are a lot of variables that that guy is not going to be able to reproduce in his tests. Thanks though. You're always helpful!!!!!!!

High quality converters, great sound, decent rtl... check out the tc impact twin. It took me about a year of research to settle on this one when I was in a similar spot as you. I'm impressed every time I use the IT.
