Howdy All ... regularly ...these days ... SONAR X3e drops all keyboard shortcuts and some of the pre-assigned tools ...for example ... sometimes when using "S" to split a clip ...nothing happens ... when that happens ...the keyboard shortcuts I've assigned simply cease to function.

I'll close the project ...re-open it and all works fine...

Does this happen to anyone else?

I've never seen this happen with any version of Sonar, although I remember when X1 was released, some of the keybindings just didn't work.  I reported it and by, I think X2, this was repaired.   I guess I would try deleting the keybinding file, in your AppData-Roaming-Cakewalk-Sonar X3 Producer folder, and start over.  Perhaps the file got corrupted.  If that doesn't work, report it to Cakewalk, or, more likely, something in your system may be causing it.  I use Sonar every day and have not seen this problem.

Maybe there is any other app in the background open who steals the keystrokes, so they don't go to Sonar.
 

Thanks JSG ...I use SONAR every day as well ...making a living. It is a new phenomenon for me... yet there must be other instances as it just happened.

When the chief of staff controlling data migration actually does the job correctly, I will re-install SONAR and try to eliminate any background software as THambrecht suggests ...

Don't forget you can export your custom key bindings as a preset if you ever need to get them all back.

Thanks Craig! after the new workstation is set up... I will do this as part of the setup ... why it's "forgetting" the key bindings is a circumstance that triggers a memory of this kind of thing ... I can't clearly recall at this time ... it will come to me... so far, no one else seems to have experienced this one....
