So, VB3 users, how do you find automating draw-bar settings. Now it's 64 bit I may finally buy it but I need to change the draw-bars using the sliders on my A-PRO 800 and store draw-bar changes as automation in X3.

Glyn,
VB3 has "MIDI Learn" for all controls and drawbars. You can completely control the UI via your MIDI controller, assuming you have enough sliders and switches.
When you record in Sonar, the CC data will be recorded along with the performance.

I use the sliders on my M-Audio Keystation 88 Pro for the drawbar automation. I have a preset saved on my Keystation for just that purpose. It works great and I also have some of the knobs setup to control other features like distortion, reverb, etc. Works like a charm.

I'm using it in X3.
I emailed GSi with a question but maybe one of you can answer it:
How do you use it with the Leslie effect in mono and pan it hard right or left.
Turning the spread knob full CCW makes it mono but fixed to the center.

Use Channel Tools to pan the stereo track or set the audio track interleave to mono and use the track panner

I can not find an interleave button and I can't access Channel Tools.
A search online yields this dead end:
"For more information, see the Channel Tools online Help" without a link.

Channel Tools is a plug-in which would go in the FX bin or ProChannel
The interleave button on the Audio Track Inspector is just above the "E" in this illustration

Thanks, Scook. There wasn't an interleave button on the MIDI track, but the channel that is being used to access VB3 did.

It didn't help though. The same problem occurs: pan left , just lower rotor, pan right, just upper horns... hold on...

I'm confused. I just played it again and now it pans properly!

I can access the Channel Tools through the primary VB3 channel also. So when you insert a MIDI channel, it defaults its output to to the main MIDI channel from which interleave and Channel Tools is accessed.

I still can't find a help page on Channel Tools. It looks like it could be a pretty helpful plugin.

Thanks again, Scook

This has nothing to do with MIDI or the MIDI track both solutions occur on the audio side. To access Channel Tools help, click in the Channel Tools UI and press the F1 key. In 64bit SONAR, the default location of the help file is "C:\Programs Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Channel Tools\Channel_Tools.chm"

Thanks, Scook!

Alternately, right click the Channel Tools UI. A dropdown menu appears with "about" and "help", scroll down & left click "help".
