So i saved a project last night with Breverb wet level having been written using 'automation write', and playing back as it is supposed to do.  Now today, when i open the project, it no longer responds to the changes, even though the automation lane reads the changes and prints them out in the lane and the lane is still assigned to Breverb wet level.
 
This keeps happening with many projects, and i have yet to figure out what is going wrong.  I've got to solve this.  Does anyone know what i am doing wrong, or knows what might be happening? 
 
I'm using X3e on Win7 Pro 64bit, 2.8GHz., 12G RAM, 500GB hard drives.   TIA.
 

Please excuse me if this is way too basic, but did you accidentally touch the "e" key on the keyboard which would turn effects off?
 
Or did you possibly click the R button on the track (or on the Control bar) which would turn READ off?
 
Both of those have gotten me before.
 

Thanks, konradh.  I didn't do those things, but i caught a volume envelope stop working red handed, that was working just a second before.  It looks like in that case i had added a node by hand using the smart tool and adjusted the slope of one section only slightly.  An 'undo' didn't get the automation back, but when i closed the project and reopened the one from last night, the automations were working, so i may have done something along those lines to the Breverb automation.  However, looking at the automation 'read' button to make sure it is ON is the first thing i do when they stop working, and they always seem to be still on.  I also have all the automation 'Write' buttons set to 'T'.
now that you pointed me in the right direction i may be able to sort it out.  Thanks.

same thing was happening to me.  the wet level quit following the envelope even when automation was read enabled. 
 
  i ended up going to a sidechain configuration... putting Breverb on a new bus at 100% wet and setting up a send from the mix bus to the new bus i called "reverb".  then i just put an automation envelope on the reverb bus input gain. 
 
however I'm currently engaged with Cake support because I'm doing a 48Khz 5.1 project for video post.  there's apparently a bug in X3e I've just found, but it seems restricted to surround projects.  this sidechain strategy seemed to work fine for stereo.  to know whether you've encountered this bug, turn up the dry level on Breverb and hit play.  if not affected by the bug, playback will sound normal.  if you immediately hear flanging, you found the bug.

BTW - regarding the sidechain - It sounds like maybe Breverb has a small (variable?) latency that, when dry Breverb is played back along with the non-sidechained track creates a flange sound?  Or perhaps i don't quite have it pictured right yet.
 

OK so now if i stop the transport and locate along the time line, the breverb will pick up the wet level of the automation, but then holds that level without changing as the level in the envelope changes.  What am i missing?
