Hello All,

Running the latest X3 producer trial and have inserted OhmBoyz and Ohmygod plugins.  However, these plugins do not respond to fx automation.  I have followed the same procedure as used for CW plugins and other 3rd party plugins.  But these two Ohmforce vst don't work for automation. Has anyone else noticed this?

thanks

I found the reference manual for the 1st plugin at:

ftp://ftp.cakewalk.com/pub/Misc/OhmBoyZ/ohmboyz-reference-en.pdf

Look starting at page 19 to see content about automation/midi.

Also, at least for that one, I saw in a couple of places where it mentions a Pro version being required to support automation.  You might want to dig up info on that as well - I have to start fixing a computer now, so I cannot devote more time right now to helping dig up info on these plugins.

Hope the above helps,

Bob Bone

I have Ohmicide and the automation seems to work correctly here. I have it set up as an effect in my plug properties. Assuming Ohmboyz and Ohmygod behave the same way, be sure to enable Midi In (Open the plug properties then above on the "VST2" button select "Enable Midi Input") for the plugin you are using. I use Ohmicide in the effects bin of whatever I want to effect (in an instance of TruePiano right now). Then I add a Midi Track, with its output routed to Ohmicide, I enable Write Automation on the MIDI track, and if I select NRPN (from MIDI, on the Edit Filter of the Midi Track), I have control over all of the Ohmicide's exposed automation controls - I just verified that this works but I have used it in the past so was reasonably certain that was the case.
As Bob says above, maybe your version of the plugs preclude automation, but if you go through the steps I outline above and substitute equivalent options for your plugs you may be able to get them working as expected. If you reply back with any issues you are having I'll see if I can help you out.

Thanks so much for the replies!
I had to enable midi in on the plugin.
