I would detest a DAW software package that auto updates.
 
Cake does a good job of publishing when an update is available for SONAR. Maybe less for synths (none if is 3rd party like Addictive Drums, that's XLN's job). 
 
Some users (a scant few) have noticed they don't get an email about updates to SONAR but then they come here to express their concern about something else and THEN!!!!!! they find out there is an update. 
 
THEN you know what they do? They decide when to update.
 
Pretty nifty if you ask me.

We should demand CW telephone each and every user when an update is available. I vote Noel calls! No robo calls either. Maybe for those that don't have a phone an employee comes to each and every door and knocks on it and waits until an answer to say "Ah sir or madam an update for Sonar has just been released".
 
Think of the wonderful customer relations this would engender. Or they could post here that an update is released.

LOL, this would backfire too... within 5 minutes there would be a thread with the title "WTF... CW called me telling there was a software update??" Then the body would read "Anyone else UPSET by this???"
