HI all,

Not a major thing but annoying me as I keep having to adjust it. In my SONAR Drum map I have names all the slots on the left hand side of the view. All the samples are listed which is great. However I have to manually drag the bar over slightly to the right to see the full names I have listed. The problem is, when I finish my editing and close the Drum map for other work it seems to reset itself. As when I go back in to it the separation bar has moved back to its original position.

I know this is not major but its annoying having to readjust it each time I go back in as I spend allot of time there. I know I could leave it open and TAB it but I won't to keep things simple and keep the screens to a minimum. I haven't had this problem with any of the PIANO ROLL views. They seem to remember where I have set the separation bar but the Drum Map does not.

Any thoughts on this?

I was going to suggest a layout template, but that doesn't work either.

Only to say, yes, I suffer the same thing! Darn nuisance and needs fixing in a future release.

I was going to post about this also but I thought I would find a way around it but I have not found it!! It sure sucks!!

Me and many others on the forum have mentioned this. I finally submitted a bug fix to Cake.

Open a New project in Cakewalk and make the changes that you want for
default settings. Then go to File | Save as and change the Type to
Template. Now overwrite the Normal.tpl file in the Cakewalk Program
folder. Cakewalk should open this way each time you launch it.

As a matter of interest, did you do that recently, i.e. before 6.1 and 6.2?

I suffered through the issue in all previous versions of SPE thinking Cake would fix it in the next release. Finally after seeing it recur in 6.2 I submitted the bug fix request.

Submit it to Cakewalk as a bug report ... it is quite annoying.

this "feature" came with sonar 5 and the new piano roll ...

Has there been any resolution of this issue? I have Sonar 7 Producer version and it still has the same behavior when trying to view drum maps in piano roll view. I have to first hit 'Fit Content' just to see the drum 'notes'. Then I have to click to remove the velocity bars (which I usually don't want to look at when I'm sequencing a drum beat), then finally I have to drag the bar on the left over to see the drum listings. Argh, it's frustrating. And making changes to these window issues not only doesn't save to a template, it doesn't even stick when switching between tracks during an editing session
