  • Pantheon Reverb? Move Clips not working in X3 Studio

Hi, Two Questions:

1. I am using the Lexicon Omega Interface on a new Windows 8.1 laptop, and just starting to work with Sonar X3 Studio. The Omega came with the Pantheon Reverb, which has worked in all earlier versions of Sonar that I've owned since 2003. The Lexicon Omega  is recognised, however Pantheon doesn't work in X3 Studio. All my earlier projects with Pantheon FX on the tracks now have no reverb! I can't face the thought of replacing all those carefully tweaked reverbs with new plugins, aaarghhh....! I tried installing from the old disk from 20013 but that doesn't work in Windows 8.1. Can anyone tell me: How do I get Pantheon back and working in X3 Studio?

2. On a more basic level, I'm shifting from Sonar 7 to X3 Studio with the new laptop. A LOT has changed in between! One utterly basic function, moving clips, now seems very mysterious. Some clips I can move just by using the Smart tool and grabbing them in in the old manner. Those ones seem to be coloured. Other clips (most of them in my earlier projects) are dark black, and the Smart tool won't grab them. What's going on? How do I make all my clips moveable as before? I'm sure this is a simple thing to fix, but I can't find any mention of it in the Help section of Sonar's website.

Thanks, Brendan

Pantheon works ok in Sonar X3 on a Windows 7 platform. I don't know about Windows 8 though.

Maybe you should try installing your original copy of Pantheon from your Sonar 7 disk. Is the new one VST rather than DX?

Thanks for the reply. My Pantheon Reverb came with the Lexicon Omega, bought in about 2003, which had a version of Cakewalk with it. I tried running the original CD and Cakewalk 7 CD, but none worked with Windows 8.1.

It is a DXi effect I think the last time I saw it as an install item was with SONAR 8.5 which would probably run under Win 8.1.  You would only need to do a custom install.

You might get a better response if you post this in the Main SONAR forum as this forum is really for discussing the forums in general.

You don't need to install Sonar 7, just that single plugin on the installation disk.

And yes, this is the wrong forum. You might get better responses here:

Also, one topic per thread is better.

EDIT:
However, cross-posting (i.e. copying and pasting the same question into another forum without updating it) was not what I had in mind.

Wookie, your a forum host, can't you move it?

And what I do is I install a bare bones version of Sonar 8.5 first before I install X3. That way I get all those old plug ins.

Forum hosts can't move posts in this particular forum. I did report it to Cakewalk when the thread opened hoping they will move it when they are back from their hols.

Looks like they've moved it, but they didn't delete this duplicate post:

Make sure the track Edit Filter is set to clips
