Zo got the idea but Steve got the current reality on the issue. I got a new vacuum cleaner to post about and a club gets pushed off to the bottom of the bird cage and outa site to page 2. Forgotten, lost.

If there is anyone left at the helm that can even drool on themselves at this point, would be great to take advice from these members and set up another forum. "Clubs" or whatever. Then micronize with sub forums as needed or requested.

Forum for musicians struggling with a specific software or developer. Makes complete, total sense and wonder why nobody thought about this approach earlier when there was maybe some administrator who cared or could help actualize the concept.

Late in the game, but a good idea if someone can make it so.

Been requested before. I for one requested a Themes Subfolder.

It is sad over time then that they did not take action on your request. Loved Cakewalk and Sonar over the years, but so many cries for help fell on deaf ears. Only outlet was to beat my head on a brick wall. Probably not a whole lot better now.

This forum will get replaced at some point in the future, so is both unlikely to happen and not worth worrying about. I simply shifted to the full version so I could mark that forum as read.

A lost opportunity of the past has been to create a wiki that could have been concise and complete. Over the years many have posted the same things repeatedly in a forum without a search engine, so a lot of that tribal knowledge will be lost as well. Repeating the same things becomes a waste of time.

KVR has always done that, with varying degrees of success. Users often forget that vendor-specific subforums exist, so most of them are overlooked and under-utilized.

Still, I have to agree with the premise that ongoing threads dedicated to one vendor are likely to become cumbersome. Maybe the solution is a better search engine.

My original idea was exactly to minimise the search , looking waves plugins infos , one placex, the lack of subfolder made me do this ... also discussion will normaly fallow time graduation releases , witch me last release have a chance to be on last pages ...anyway i do think forums can be a place for both , discussion and references ...

If you guyz want we can delete those ... until they create a better layout and categorised version of the forum

Would like to know what this forum’s actual status is. Are people still running it or are all of us drifting in limbo until someone pulls the plug?

I got no illusion or hope that anything will change here. Didn’t happen when Sonar was a viable product, and will not happen now in the twilight days of you and me being able to communicate here..

Bit’s argument about a better search engine may be a fix, but the stuff is still scattered to hell and back.

My old school OCD focus is still on another section of the forum. Call it whatever to categorize and establish sticky sub sections to cover major developers. Would in a real world nominate Zo as a moderator to add new sections as needed. Will never happen, but only a discussion on how to pull it off right if we had any choice.

Can’t remember where the hell it was, but the HeadCase guys were instrumental in starting a web focus on specific guitar sims by the author. Highly successful with washed in the blood participation. You had a question, dialed in to the respective forum and some guru fixed you quick.

My opinion only, but these Cakewalk forums are dead going forward. Nobody can register, and what we see is what we gets. Who knows how long things will last here. Best scenario to just let us die off from old age naturally. Less left to complain or ask for change. Sure cure.
