  • "Hidden" tracks still Appear In Console View but I Want Them To Stay Hidden

Hi,

I can hide tracks into a track folder in track view and then hide that folder until I want to open it but in Console View, every time I load a project, all the hidden tracks appear and I have to rehide them to make more room to see things and edit, etc.

Is there a setting I need to tweak to get the hidden console view tracks, to stay hidden?

Thanx, Frederick

Is "Keep track/console visibility states in sync" selected in the Track Manager? (Press H)

Yes, it's selected. The problem isn't hiding them in the first place in the console, the problem is when I reload the project, all the previously hidden tracks appear again and I have to go and hide them again. They won't stay hidden in console view although they stay hidden in track view. Is there a special way of saving the file?

It could be a screen set or Lens that was saved with the console tracks shown.

Good idea. As you suggested I tried saving the lens when the tracks were hidden, closed file, reopened and there they were again. Also tried exiting Cakewalk and restarting it, no better. FYI I'm using the Mercury style but I doubt that it matters.

I guess the good news is it only takes about 10 seconds to open the track manager and uncheck the folder that I want to hide that contains all the tracks I don't want to see.

Check that your current screenset isn't locked

Other than mentioning you are using the "Mercury style" I have no idea which version of Bandlab (or possibly Sonar) you are using. This is important because there was a problem back in Sonar days with hidden tracks but it wasn't pinned down and fixed until Bandlab by Cakewalk was released.

If this IS still happening in Bandlab by Cakewalk my suggestion is to create a brand new template in Bandlab and not use any older templates you created in Sonar.

Do a small test by opening a brand new project and creating a new folder with several tracks.
Try hiding a few tracks in that folder, then close/reopen the project and check for re-appearing tracks.
