Installing it is not the issue (unless it turns out to be incompatible with the latest o/s platform). To install it you just need the serial number printed on the box.
 
By the way, the OP should also download the maintenance release:

But before that the OP needs to come back here and clarify the exact nature of the problem. I'm almost sure that it can be solved.

To install it you just need the serial number printed on the box, but to run it you need to activate it with a registration code. 

If you have an account that is accessible on Cakewalk.com, then your Serial and registration numbers should be available there. At one time you must have had this if your Sonar 6 was installed and working.
