Can anybody please explain if there's any advantages to using Steam vs. just downloading from the Cakewalk Store?
I see on the Steam site there's lots of stuff about game support for multiple platforms ... does this imply that the 2-machine limit is lifted if you go this route?
Thanks in advance,

BTW well the answer is you can play Grand Theft Auto without any pausing (it throttles the download of Cakewalk when you are playing games).

People who use Steam love buying products in this ecosystem. You get instant updates and files are saved on the cloud. It's really a matter of preference. The great thing is you have options.

And discounts. There is a pretty mind bending discount on right now for people who bought MC on steam earlier. I could barely believe it!

VERY happy about this. Wise move Cakewalk. I got my first ever email newsletter from Cakewalk today too!

Thanks for the replies. So is the idea that you don't have to save and backup your install files? You just download and run and that's the end of it? Kind of like updating your internet browser?

Right, your install files are saved to the cloud for easy access should you need to re-install. Install process is streamlined too and when a new patch comes out, it automatically updates. People like it.
