Looking at Sonar X3 on Steam, it says that the publisher is "Tascam Professional Software." Does this mean the takeover has happened already, or is at least a done deal?

steam distinguishes between developers and publishers, cake being the dev in this case, though sometimes they're the same outfit... would be nice if the cloud storage included projects

Unfortunately, Steam only offers 100mb of cloud storage per application. No backups available there. Though we are looking to implement Steamworks for template/sample sharing in the community and possibly configuration backups.

Do your own implementation, my view :).
One of these days you are going to have a store and an auto update built into Sonar right~?

Cheers...

I'm not so sure about a store built into the app. Pay to Win or Pay to Play get's a little bogus after a while. If there was, I think we'd leave it entirely optional and maybe leverage it more for building community.

I think everyone here would like an auto-update capability.

What exactly would "auto update be"?  Like windows updates?  Ummmm, no thanks.  I want to wait and make sure the updates seem to be working for others before I install.

Capability, yes.  As long as it's an option

You can run windows update manually without a scheduler, and any automated update facility I've ever seen does this. So I don't see the issue.
