Did you do anything special recently to achieve this status ?

Looking at Sonar X3 on Steam, it says that the publisher is "Tascam Professional Software." Does this mean the takeover has happened already, or is at least a done deal?

Yes, we are officially owned by Gibson now.

"I think everyone here would like an auto-update capability."

What exactly would "auto update be"?  Like windows updates?  Ummmm, no thanks.  I want to wait and make sure the updates seem to be working for others before I install.

Capability, yes.  As long as it's an option

As CakeAlex pointed out, even Windows Updates can be manually run/disabled, and so can Steam auto-updates. Never fear!

@cake: will you make it possible to activate X3 in steam even if it was purchased from your website or somewhere else?

Do you think Steam provides services for free? :) Everybody has a margin. Software companies would rather people go through their own shop window than somebody else's in reality, everybody has their percentage or fee.

do you think web stores & all the associated stuff are free? ;-) the advantage of steam is that it takes away a massive chunk of the distribution hassles

Sometimes you can add a program to steam that was purchased elsewhere and then Steam will handle all the auto updates, etc.  I think this is what the question above is referring to.

I'd like to know that too. I purchased SONAR X3 from Cakewalk online store, and it would be great to have it added to my Steam Library (and get DLC with discounts during seasonal sales...)
