I noticed there aren't a lot of major issues posted with X3. Nothing like the nightmare that was X1 and X2. Though X2 was stable for me and I was affraid to jump to X3 because of X1. Of course most issues are major to those having them. Though I have more confidense now in the X series I still worry a little. If the Bakers stay on the path they are on all will be great in Sonar land. I'd like to see Sonar become the favored DAW. I think in time it will. I can't see it not climbing to the top.

I just found one on X3 on the staff View when I enter a chord on a mesure, it writw that same chord on all the nexts mesures.  I cannot write another one on the next mesure.  Or, If i erease the one of these , it erase all of them.  Al that problem starts when I copied few mesures with lyrics on...
Anybody had that problem?
Just wanna know.  If nobody answer I will erase and redo all those 8 mesures...

X3e is VERY stable.

I do not believe staff view has gotten any particular development attention in a good many years, to the best of my knowledge (I dimly recall some changes, but most folks appear to have written it off).

I think folks who are serious about notation are using 3rd-party notation programs, such as Finale.  There are others, but I don't recall what they are, off the top of my head.

But, the main functionality of X3e has been incredibly stable for just about everybody, and there are no show stoppers that come to mind.

Yes, to make a real nice chart I use Finale.  But, I use the staff view in Sonar to compose too.  And it is very usefull for me to place some MIDI stuff on their right place on the same way that some people use the piano roll...
I was asking the question in case of somebody had that kind of problem and could guide me to get a solution with it.
I'll find a way anyway...
Thank you

X2 was very stable for me. X3 has given me the white screen of no response / close the program at least once every 30 minutes. And I can no longer use my celemony Melodyne. It simply will not work. I have the fully paid version and it was just fine in X2. I cannot use the freebie melodyne either. It simply reads in the data and displays NOTHING. and cannot be manipulated or moved around in. The only think I can do is exit out of it.

Did you apply X3e?  Also, is your Windows maintenance up to date, and the same question for your 3rd-party plugins and your audio interface?

Have you posted any of your issues, so that we can help you resolve whatever is going on?

I am trying to be a "wise guy" with the above questions - I am asking so that maybe I can help get your issues resolved.  :)

Windows is up to date. I plan to run an sfc /scannow I'll have to check to see if SONAR X3 is in its latest update. I just used it for the first time today. I finished up a number of projects on X2 before getting into it. Thanks for the help.

I am on x1. Now that I have started to use my old duo capture interface with my laptop it no more crashes/freezes:) I used to use my laptop's internal sound card with Asio4all and it often crashed Sonar. If I update it will be x4 or x5. My needs are so modest that I really use only a fraction of the features that are in x1. On my desktop crashes still occur sometimes but rarely. With that comp I use either Realtek or Audio Kontrol 1.

You will need to update it to the E patch.  This is the one that is the most stable.
