Hi Guys, New to Sonar and trying to follow instructions to define a new groove.
I follow the instructions below (I select 4 bars of Drum Audio, copy to the Clipboard, Process Groove Quantize) but there is no option to select "clipboard" as  the "Groove File" & "Define" is greyed out. What am I doing wrong?
 
To define a new groove
1.  Select the music that defines the groove using any of the selection tools and commands.
2.  Choose Edit > Copy to place the music onto the Clipboard. 
You can now use the Groove Quantize command with the Clipboard as the “Groove File.” To save a groove pattern 1.  Select the music that defines the groove using any of the selection tools and commands.
2.  Choose Edit > Copy to place the music onto the Clipboard. 
3.  Choose Process > Groove Quantize to display the Groove Quantize dialog box.
4.  Choose the Clipboard as the groove “Groove File.”
5.  Click the Define button to display the Define Groove dialog box.

OK, got it needs to be Midi Data.

I am not sure if I understand your question properly. The method I have always used is to have the data to be grooved in a track. At that point, you can right click on the clip and select "Groove-Clip Looping" from the pop-up menu. I am confused by "clipboard" as data needs to be pasted "somewhere" for software functions to work on it.

It is when you want to create a groove out of an existing piece of Midi (That was my problem I was using Audio [similar to what you do in Cubase] but it must be Midi (at least for this method {I'm New to Sonar})
So you create the groove by the method (posted above) and apply it to other tracks.
