Hi all

Wonder if someone can help, hopefully I've done something easy to put right here, but I can't figure it out.

I was trying to locate some audio to copy and paste. When finished and I played my song back I have suddenly had a wall of silence which now affects all my X3 projects, not just the one I was working on.

The problem is that although the song data is there on Track View, it is either not being sent to, or recognised by the recording console, as there are no L.E.D lights when the project plays. I've checked so see if I've muted anything I shouldn't have but everything looks fine. Usually if sound is muted, the L.E.Ds still move up and down but nothing is registering at all.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might have happened?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Check the "Playback Timing Master" in Preferences > Audio > Driver Settings

Thanks for the suggestion, have had a look but can't see anything that looks out of place.

A few ideas/questions.......

Check the master buss "out" setting in Sonar. Is it set to your interface?
Are the meters on any of the tracks showing movement at all. If they are, what about busses? Do you have any solos active anywhere? Check the mix module doesn't have a lit solo button. Any mutes? Again check the "Mix module".

As scook suggested make sure your playback timing master is set to your interface.

There is a bit of a bug that shows itself from time to time involving the concrete limiter. If you have that on a track and/or buss try switching that off. It will randomly apply full gain reduction which the GR meter will indicate even when there is no audio going through it.

That's a few starting points anyway...

What happens if you restart the computer? (nice fresh memory allocations and buffer refreshes and little butterflies on a sunny day)

Thanks guys.

In the end after not being able to see anything wrong, and with the problem affecting every project, I re-installed my Komplete Audio 6 driver software.

Everything burst back into life! Never had that happen before, but at least I know what do to if it happens again

Thanks again for your help.
