  • Manually Inputting Notes on Channel 10 in Sonar x1

Hello, I'm very new to Sonar and it all seems quite alien to me at the moment.

I've having problems with making a MIDI drum track. I suspect the cause is something simple but I've spent hours on it and I can't get it to work. Basically I put the notes in manually, set the track channel to 10, and when I play back I can't hear any sound from either the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth or my keyboard when I set them as my output devices. It works if I change it to any other channel but then I don't get percussion. When I record the track from my keyboard however, I can play it back on either device. When I do this and I open the piano roll view, there is an extra controller CC: 10 (Chan 10) and most of the notes have this "p0" tag on them. I'm not able to replicate this manually.

BTW, I don't have Session Drummer 3 or anything, just working on Sonar x1, but I feel what I'm doing should work. Am I right? Or should I approach this in a different way?

Thanks

Rather than messing with the GS Wavetable use the TTS-1 soft synth. TTS-1 is included with every version of SONAR. Insert the synth using an instrument track or audio and MIDI tracks, set the MIDI Channel 10 in the instrument or MIDI track.
