hiya.

i seem to be getting "The Parameter is incorrect" when i try open one of my audio folders in file browser within sonar x3. other folders in the same directory seem to work fine. this folder contains sub folders and 11gb of audio thats used in alot of my projects - and projects that are using sounds in this folder all throw the same error when i open them,

even on a fresh new project - click the this folder and "ding - error" , iv check the properties on the folder in windows and its exactly the same as all the other folder within my sample library, so nothing has been edited or changed or anything - its kinda weird seeing it worked perfectly 2 weeks ago when i last fired up sonar ...

any ideas how to solve this issue ?

thanks

I used to get this a lot but lately I haven't.  I can't say why though.  I upgraded my PC about a year ago.  Just lately I clicked through the folders and didn't get that error so...  I'll be checking this out too.

I wonder if there is some weird character in a file or folder name that may be only exposed during decompression or some bizarre thing.

What happens if you manually go open whatever folders are causing problems - doing so OUTSIDE of Sonar?

Close Sonar.
Outside Sonar, in the Windows file-explorer, try to rename this Folder.
Create a new folder, with the old name.
Then copy the files (from the old) to the new created folder.
Maybe it's a problem with the file permissions, Windows sometimes demages file permissions.
Then start Sonar and check it.

Hiya. thanks for reply's guys.

THambrecht , i think i owe you a beer or 2 - weird thing is i moved contents to a new main folder with same name and was still getting error , even renamed it to test ,, However a full copy and paste as you suggested to the new folder has solved the problem :) , my old projects all loading correct and playing as they should (not tested all but looks promising right now)

Bob , all the sounds are loopmaster packs i purchased all files have generic names and worked fine couple weeks ago weird thing when i browsed my sample lib everything was there intact and sounds all playable on media player, so still no idea to actual cause, maybe put it down to windows being silly , and definitely time to do a fresh copy of all my projects and sounds to a external for safe keeping..

thanks again , just happy all them countless hours are not wasted :)

If the copy/paste worked then it was definately a folders permissions issue.

At this stage I would run chkdsk on your harddrive just in case they are corrupted.

Cheers.
