  • [Solved] How do I open automation lanes in multiple tracks to sculpt related tracks?

Tonight I was truly loving the automation lanes till I realized I couldn't have them open in more than one track at a time...I was sooooo bummed! I really want this! Tried control+clicking highlighted vocal tracks automation lanes with no success....

Situation:  I'd done several vocal tracks, going back and forth in counterpoint on a climate issue.  Wanted to both adjust volumes and pans on BOTH tracks simultaneously so I could separate them and move them around the "sound space", adjusting in chunks.  What would have been both fun and visually easy turned into taking several times longer and a bunch of back and forths with switching from track to track. Intuitive became a mechanical challenge

I can also see this being extremely useful in orchestrations also...I LOVE the automation lanes....but they would be so much more powerful in sculpting a composition if related (ie, personally selectable) tracks and their automation lanes could be viewed together...

In this regard, a "view only selected tracks with automation lanes open" would really help declutter the screen when doing this.

Also, being able to "select" the automation you want to observe.... ie, "pan, volume, all...." would further help in multi-track automation sculpting functionality (I'm so dumb we may already be able to do this)

Is is possible "Auto Track Zoom" is enabled? When disabled, all track automation lanes can be displayed at the same sime. The "Auto Track Zoom" option is in the Track View View menu. It is also bound to SHIFT+Z.

scook to the rescue again!  OK, so as I see it, the Bakers have already fullfilled a big feature request of mine by incorporating X4 into X3!

When some say take your time getting X4 out as we still don't fully use/understand the full power of X3... this is a case in point!  Just did what you said and wow!

Endless thanks in your direction.  I don't think I'll post here anymore till I post my quandries in Sonar's zone! I'll change the title if you want to move the thread...
