I'm using Sonar 8.5 and had an issue with my DAW.
That was fixed but when I backed up all the audio files, then reinstalled Sonar, more than half of the Cakewalk Projects were not there.
And many that were there, had audio files missing.
The computer directory indicates they are there but I can't find them.
Also, some of the Cakewalk plugins are missing.
We are using Windows 8.

Any suggestions on how to repair this?

Thanks for any help!

I think you did not back up your projects correctly. Sorry :(

Also, re-installing Sonar will never ever ever affect any of the projects stored on your PC.

First things first, did you delete your cakewalk projects?
Where did you back them up to?
Did you check your back ups before deleting the original projects?
Did you back them up in CWP and per project or CWB formats?

For your plugins, just scan the folder that the dll's are in. Its called the VST scan.

They were backed up on another hard drive and on 6- DVDs.
They were not backed up as CWP or bundles.
Also,it seems the missing plugins are all active when we record.
revered,delay,chorus...

Can you import just the missing plugins from the original install disc?

Thanks for your help...this is quite depressing!

Is SONAR 8.5 even supported on Win8?  It may not be directly related to your issue, but I suppose it could be a factor at some level...  now or in the future.
