Hi, So Iv'e searched for two many hours now not to post a new thread. I got Sonar X3 producer and the latest version of Catanya 2 that has both 32 and 64 bit.
I only installed the 64 bit version and installed it in the same folder as all my other 64 bit vst
Sonar finds it just fine. It loads up just fine.
I'm able to route it like is should as listed below.
  1. Catanaya  midi track= In: OMNI "my keyboard" Out: Catanya
  2. True Piano's midi track= In: OMNI Catanya  Out: True Piano's
  3. True Piano's audio track = In: True Piano's : Master
So all the other threads show this to work as it makes sense and should.
The Catanya midi track recognizes my keyboard, I have it sent to Catanya and the signal is dead from there. It does not leave Catanya to enter the Piano midi track as it is routed to do so.

Catanya's website is as useless as used toilet paper.
If you have Sonar X3 running 64 bit and the new version of Catanya 2 64 bit and you have it working please let me know how you did it cuz I really want this plug in as it looks way cool and simple for my needs.
Thanks a bunch. Cheers.

Is your X3 patched to X3E ?

There were some fixes specifically related to things needed for Catanya to work properly.

What is X3E? An update?
Thanks

The patch probably won't fix your problem, but you should still update.

Did you enable MIDI output for Catanya ?

Below is an excerpt from this support page.

To enable VST MIDI input and output ports
Some VST audio effects and instruments can generate MIDI events. These plug-ins expose MIDI input and output ports. When inserting such a VST plug-in, no MIDI ports are exposed by default, and no Synth Rack entry appears in the Browser.
If you wish to utilize MIDI input or output for a supported VST plug-in, you must explicitly enable the ports in SONAR. SONAR lets you enable MIDI input and output ports for any MIDI capable VST plug-in.
1.
Double-click the VST plug-in in an effects bin to open the plug-in’s property page.

2.
Click the VST Preset Options dropdown menu and select one of the following options:

Enable MIDI Input. When enabled, the VST plug-in shows up as an available MIDI output destination in the project.

Enable MIDI Output. When enabled, the VST plug-in shows up in the Browser’s Synth Rack, and the corresponding ports are exposed to SONAR..

Note: If you enable a MIDI output port, a corresponding MIDI input port is also enabled. However, you can enable a MIDI input independent of the output.

The Enable MIDI Input and Enable MIDI Output menu commands are unavailable if the VST plug-in doesn't support MIDI input or output.

For more information about adjusting VST plug-in settings, see the Cakewalk Plug-in Manager online Help.

I believe the fixes, in X3d, were for multiple instances of Catanya (or other midi-outputting plugin) running at the same time.

You have to select the 'Input Echo' button on each of the MIDI tracks. Otherwise MIDI will only go to whichever track is high-lighted instead of both, like it needs to.
