  • [Solved] Dragging track height borders to expand view ( single vs all ?? )

I want to grab the lower border of a track in the track pane to "See more of the controls".

Sometime, I grab the border ( cursor us now little up and down arrows )  and only the track that I'm dragging will expand.

Other times...  I grab a lower track border and all of the tracks expand ( like an accordion bellows )...  they all expand in the same proportion.

There are times when each of these would be an ideal situation,  If I could only figure out what I did to change the property that switches between these two control options..   I have no clue what I did,  but at times each has a distinct advantage.  Like when they were all at the minimum height and I could not even see the mute buttons..  I had to click each track ( all 20-some) and drag them one at a time.. What a pain that is!

I can't find any documentation ( or I don't know what It's officially called ) to get any search results on this topic.

Thank you for any input.

Sounds like Auto Track Zoom is enabled in the Views menu.

From the X2 online help (X3 help doesn't seem to have the following note) :

Note: When Auto Zoom is enabled, it is not possible to resize individual tracks. All non-focused tracks always have the same track height. If a non-focused track is resized, all others resize with it. All Minimize Strip and Restore Strip buttons are also hidden.

From the X3 online help  :
Auto Track Zoom.  This command enables/disables Auto Zoom, which allows you to automatically enlarge the track that has focus. All other tracks are minimized. When a new track is focused, it swaps heights with the previously focused track.

The in focus track can have a separate size - all the other tracks will shrink or grow together.  Very handy for working track at a time.

Just a FYI.......to intentionally change multiple track heights with autozoom off, select the tracks you want to change, hold the shift key down and resize one of them.

Ctrl + Up/Down arrow resizes height of all tracks at once.

With Autozoom off, you can do a lot using H, Ctrl + H, Shift + H, Ctrl + Shift + H
