  • Can we talk about remote control again??

So the most recent thread seems to be about six months old, and things change!

I am looking to replace my Tranzport (several dead buttons) and avoid purchasing yet another control surface.

For direct Sonar control I just want to be able to arm tracks, and control the transport - I need to be able to record tracks when I am not sitting in front of the monitors/keyboard.

For VIs I want to be able to send arbitrary messages, key switches, continuous controllers, etc.

I'd prefer one app, but if I need one for each function that's ok too.

What's the score?

Thanks!

It would be nice if Cake were to make an APP with foot pedal hardware to plug into an I-Device, a la Tranzport, Fader One. Who knows what else they could add. Maybe it is in the works. If not here, somewhere because there is a market and I-Stuff is coming on strong, lots of money to be made in APPs and related HW.

don't know if this will be of any interest to you..my sonar system is a windows 7 pc, but I also have a windows 8 pc with 23" touchscreen, i've been looking for software to use on that to transmit midi over the network..and I finally got something working a few days ago. There's a windows 8 app named 'yMidi' which  I used together with 'rptMidi' to send midi over Ethernet. yMidi has a keyboard (velocity sensitive depending on where you hit it), selection of sliders, and x/y pad a pan control plus a 2nd view of a 4x4 grid of pads that are also velocity sensitive. It was easy to get working & I've configured it & sonar so that the pads trigger groove clips in the matrix view, I've configured sliders to mess with synths + effects. its a bit basic but its functional - and its ridiculously low priced.
