I think I signed up.  I really don't know.  I just went to BandLab and created an account using the same email address as I have been using for my Cakewalk Sonar account.  Seems like there is nothing on Bandlab that appeals to me.  Hopefully I've done the right thing to get my account to receive my info from Cakewalk when they do the data transfer.

Sounds similar to me. Thing is, I don't like Sound Cloud. I haven't had the time to check out Band Lab just yet, but I get the impression it is kind of a "FACEBOOK" for musicians, and if that's the case then I will not like it at all.

I wonder if you have the option to use it as a host for others to listen to your music with defined permissions, meaning your music link can't be shared unless you allow it, or downloaded.

I like the idea of an easy way to collaborate on songs with Band Lab, but I don't like the idea that your idea's become everyone else's IF I UNDERSTAND IT RIGHT PER THEIR TERMS, Which I have not agree'd with because I uploaded NOTHING, So I presume that if you do upload it is PART OF THEIR CLOUD meaning  goodbye SONG IDEA/SONG for any leech who is looking for an idea.

I just signed in for an account because I felt as though I had NO CHOICE if I want to be able to activate my Sonar Platinum in the future.

Yes. You can find me over there as Tone Ranger. (But you can still call me 'Los if you want.)

edit: I think my output level is currently the equivalent of minus infinity dB. I'll be lurking around to see what involvement over there looks like. I am still intrigued as to what new directions this acquisition will take.

Still loving my SONAR Platinum and happy if the Noel and his new BandLab buddies can improve it.

Wish they would have created a separate site for TDFKAS first and ported the Cakewalk customer DB to that, with the option of linking your TDFKAS account to Bandlab in case you want social networking features :/

For those of you who are concerned about creating a Bandlab login it's not a big deal. If you upload songs you can keep your song settings private and no one will see you. If you want to be heard then you can publish your tunes so they are available for others to hear. You can also invite others to add parts but that's up to you.
I've been signed up for a few weeks now and no one ever bothers me or contacts me. I did publish a couple tunes and got some feedback and a couple followers. So far this seems like a very simple requirement Bandlab is asking for and it is only as intrusive as you let it be. If you sign up and never login that's cool too. I probably won't be using their tools to record, but may upload mixes to have people add parts that I can bring back down to TDFKAS to process.
Not.a.big.deal. IMHO.

I saw people mentioning that they received an email about it, but I didn't and did not see anything in SPAM folders, so I shot them a message.  They said as long as I use the same email address I use here it should link them automatically, so I went ahead and created my account.  Haven't really looked any of the social aspects of it, but I'll probably investigate that at some point and see if there is anything in it worth using.
