I must say the first time you don't lose a song because of it's pretty cool. That's happened to me twice now, and one of the songs ended up becoming a video on my YouTube channel.

I realized I mentioned markers earlier but didn't go into much detail. While playing, if you do something cool, you can enter a marker. It closes that file and starts another one. So, when you bring a file into your computer, you always know to look at the end of the file for the good stuff. It really helps not to have to review hours of noodling.

I think I may get one and have a real good guitar player play into it for about an hour.

Then, I'll take it out to open mic night and hit play while I pretend I'm jamming like a madman.

Something like that.

Sorry, but the cable itself doesn't play back...it's a recorder. You'd have to playback through a computer.

The more I think about this Gibson Memory Cable the more I want to get it ...
99% of the time I play through a hollow body Jazz Box un amped .
i do this just to keep the peace on the home front . (thank you apt living … )
it seems to me that all my best playing and ideas always seem to come to me late at night …2 to 4 AM
I think it might have to do with that whole Zen thing where the archer can always hit the bullseye when he is not under the pressure of having to hit the bullseye….
I can certainly see the benifit of this tool . Ive had it happen plenty of times where the Muse was kind to me and then 10 minutes later I was fighting to remember what I was  playing just a few minutes ago when I was in the zone ...
I'm even starting to think that this cable might turn out to be a nice little tool combined w X3 ….
practice it up w the cable plugged in while on record mode , but not plugged into an amp , then save some new ideas with out losing them , pull out the wave files , create a little template in SONAR then slide some of the ideas into that audio to midi converter , become good friends again w the piano roll and create a library of my own $hit…. might even be able to write an advanced guitar book by doing it this way ...

oh yeah …the more i type the more I'm selling my self this product  I do want to get it when I can swing it comfortably

I have a Zoom Q3 and I'm always amazed at how much stuff I have recorded and filmed out in the field / nature ...
a lot of stuff  I had forgotten that I even did
getting the files out on that Q3 unit to the computer is pretty easy ..it has a usb connecter ….
with the Gibson Memory Cable is it that easy to pull the wave files out of the unit ?  does it come with some sort of cable that connects the memory cable to the computer via usb?

at the very least , we can consider this post a friendly bump from a guy who wants to get one .
