Hello Again!

I use EZ Drummer and when I want to edit or move a drum part I like to be able to see what instrument is on a particular line, but all I see in Sonar are the piano keys.  Is there any way to change the view to the drum instruments (snare, tom ride cymbal, etc)?  Thanks!

Drum Maps

Select the midi track of EZDrummer open the inspector (i) in the in/out section at the bottom of the inspector on the O tab select new drum map and then select the drum map for EZ Drummer.

If you do not have a drum map for EZ Drummer there is some out there on the inter web or you could just create your own.  This will help you create your own drum map.

Have fun.

There is. You either need to use a drum map, set in the synth output or if using hardware an instrument file can be used to map notes to the keyboard and displayed as such using a right click over the note pane, and then selecting  the relevant "INS" map file via "Use these note names instead" from the dialogue.

For a quick fix, right-click on the piano keyboard in the PRV, select "Use these Note Names Instead" and pick "General MIDI drums" in the dropdown.  If you're using any kind of normal kit, chances are many names will line up with your notes.

If the cakewalk docs don't cut it for you, take a look at my video tutorial on the drum maps.  You can find it on my website in my signature.  Maybe this goes into more detail than you want/need, but I think it's worth the short time it takes to watch it.  It's in the Music...Sonar...Specific topics section.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to this thread I searched up information on Drum Maps and set up a Drum Map for Maschine.
